Automatic asset warranty detection with Setyl

A guide to Setyl's automatic warranty finding service for Assets

See our plans page to confirm whether Setyl's automatic warranty detection service is included for your Organization's account.

Check the service is enabled for your account

Go to Settings > Company Settings > and from the General tab, look for the appropriate section.

An on/off toggle is displayed to show whether the service is enabled.

The toggle will be greyed out if the warranty finding service is not included within your existing plan.

How the detection service works

For assets with no warranty information, Setyl will automatically attempt to add warranty details.

Manufacturer and serial number must be filled in for the service to work.

Once enabled, the service is automatic and does not require input from the Customer side to run. Warranty data is normally updated within the first 7 days of an Asset being created.

This service is supported for the following manufacturers:

  • Lenovo
  • HP
  • Dell
  • Apple
  • Asus
  • Samsung
  • Oneplus

You can reach out to Setyl via hello@setyl.com to request support for additional manufacturers. Note that Setyl is only able to support manufacturers where a warranty checking service is publicly accessible.

Setyl's upcoming auto asset creation functionality

In addition, Setyl will shortly begin providing an additional service which creates and updates Assets automatically when detected from an asset detection source such as an MDM. This will work alongside the automatic warranty updating functionality (where available) to ensure that all Assets within an Organization's account remain up to date.
