Can I add or change Asset Types?
You can choose which Asset Types are available in your organization's Setyl account by enabling or disabling them.
To enable or disable Asset Types
- Log in to Setyl.
- On the left menu, go to Settings > Company Settings.
- Along the top menu, select Asset Types.
- Turn off Show Enabled Asset Types Only to see every Asset Type, including disabled ones.
- Click Edit next to an Asset Type and set Asset Enabled to Yes to make it available, or No to hide it.
Note: You can't disable an Asset Type that is currently in use. The Assets column shows how many Assets use each type.
Setting default depreciation and useful life
Each Asset Type also sets the defaults for Assets of that type: Depreciation Method, Depreciation Length, Min Asset Value and Default Useful Life. Click Edit next to the Asset Type to change them.
Requesting a new Asset Type
Check the full list first with Show Enabled Asset Types Only turned off, because the type you need may just be disabled. If it isn't there, use the Other Asset Type for now, and contact us via the live chat or at hello@setyl.com to request a new one.
