How do I assign a License to a Person?

To assign a License to a Person:

Option 1:

  1. Log in to Setyl
  2. Go to the profile of the Person you wish to assign the License to
  3. Select "Apps" along the top menu
  4. Click "+ Assign" in "Assigned Licenses"

Either:

  1. Select "Assign" to assign an existing License to that Person
  2. Select "Create License" to create and assign a new License to that Person

Option 2:

  1. Log in to Setyl
  2. Go to Apps > All Apps
  3. Select the App of the License you wish to assign to a Person
  4. Select the License you wish to assign to a Person

Either:

  1. Click "+ Assign People/Service Accounts" to assign the License to a Person already in Setyl
  2. Click "Upload Assignees" to upload a list of license holders

Why can't I assign a License to someone?

Licenses can only be assigned to People with a status of Onboarding, Active or Offboarding. To assign one to an archived Person, reinstate them first from Settings > Archived Records.

Assigning lots of people at once

To assign a License to many people, use Upload Assignees (Option 2), or set up a rule so people are assigned automatically. See Automate License Assignment Using Groups.
