# How do I change permissions for a Role or restrict a Person's access?

What someone can see and do in Setyl depends on their Role. You can change the permissions for the Manager and Supervisor Roles. The Owner and Limited Access Roles have fixed access, and Employee access has one optional setting. **Who can change permissions**

By default, only Owners and Managers can change user permissions.

**Change the permissions for Managers or Supervisors**

1. Log in to Setyl.
2. Go to Settings \> Company Settings.
3. Select **User Permissions** from the top menu.
4. Turn on or off the permissions you want each Role to have.

Changes apply to everyone with that Role.

**Roles you can't change**

- **Owner:** has access to everything, so there is always someone who can manage the whole account.
- **Employee:** gives access to the Employee dashboard, plus an optional setting to let Employees create and edit their own Assets.
- **Limited Access:** can only complete Surveys sent to them in My Tasks. This is the lowest level of access in Setyl.

**Restrict a specific Person's access**

Permissions are set for each Role, not for each Person. To give someone less access, change their Role:

1. Go to People \> All People.
2. Select the Person.
3. Select **Edit Person**.
4. Change the **Role** field, for example to Employee or Limited Access.
5. Click **Update Person**.
