How do I ignore, restore or merge Apps?
Why Apps can't be archived, how to bring back an ignored App, and what to do about duplicates.
Why can't I archive an App?
Your integrations keep detecting the apps people use. If an App could be archived, it would simply be detected again and added back as new. Instead, you ignore Apps you don't want to track. Setyl remembers that you've ignored the App and won't add it back when it's detected again. When you ignore an App, all of its Licenses are archived automatically.
Where are my Apps?
Apps > All Apps has a tab for each App status:
- Register: Apps you're actively managing.
- Onboarding: Apps you're setting up.
- Discovered: Apps found by your integrations that you haven't reviewed yet.
- Unapproved: Apps that you've marked as not approved for use.
- Ignored: Apps you've chosen not to track.
Restore an ignored or unapproved App
- Go to Apps > All Apps and select the Ignored or Unapproved tab.
- Find the App and change its status to Discovered, Onboarding or Register.
"Brand has already taken" when adding an App
This means the App already exists in your account. It's usually in the Ignored tab, which isn't included in search. Restore it from there instead of adding it again.
Where did an App come from?
On Apps > All Apps, the Source column shows how each App was found, for example from Microsoft or Google sign-ins, or added manually.
I have the same App twice
This can happen if you added an App manually and an integration later detected it under a slightly different name. Email hello@setyl.com with the names of both and we'll merge them for you.
