How do I use Setyl's asset labels?

Labels are optional, but we recommend them. Scanning a label is the quickest way to find, check or update an asset. Labels also help you account for every device, reduce loss and theft, and make audits simpler.

Label a new asset

1. Stick a label on the asset.

2. Scan the QR code with your phone's camera.

3. Log in to Setyl, with your details or SSO.

4. Create a new asset, or link the label to an existing asset record.

Once a label is linked, you can also search for the asset in Setyl using its Asset ID.

Scanning options

You can scan labels with a phone or tablet camera, your computer's webcam, or a wired or wireless 2D barcode scanner.

Replace a damaged label

1. Stick a new label on the asset.

2. Open the asset's profile in Setyl and remove the old Asset ID.

3. Scan the new label and link it to the asset, or enter the new Asset ID manually.

What happens if someone finds a lost asset?

If a labeled asset has been reported lost or stolen, anyone who scans its label is asked for their contact details. Setyl sends these to the Owner of the organization the asset belongs to. This only works for assets registered in Setyl.
