To keep your Setyl account and your organisation’s data safe, all users must meet certain minimum password requirements. These rules help ensure that passwords are strong enough to protect against common security threats.
Minimum password criteria
When setting or updating your password in Setyl, it must meet the following requirements:
-
Must be at least 12 characters long
-
Must include at least one uppercase letter
- Must include at least one lowercase letter
-
Must include at least one digit
Can admins enforce stronger requirements?
Yes. Admin users can configure stronger password policies across the organization by enabling single sign-on (SSO) or enforcing password rules through an identity provider such as Microsoft Entra ID or Okta.
What happens if a password doesn’t meet the requirements?
If a password doesn’t meet the criteria, Setyl will display an error message and prevent the user from saving the change until the requirements are met.
Best practices for secure passwords
Even if a password meets the minimum requirements, we recommend the following:
-
Avoid using common passwords (like "password123" or "qwerty")
-
Don’t reuse the same password across multiple accounts
-
Consider using a password manager to store and generate complex passwords
