Setyl’s CrowdStrike Falcon Integration: A Comprehensive Guide

CrowdStrike Falcon is a cloud based platform that protects endpoints, such as computers, from attacks.


Setyl is able to integrate with CrowdStrike Falcon as an asset discovery source, enabling the detection and synchronization of assets into Setyl.

The following information is imported into Setyl from CrowdStrike Falcon:


Asset-based information:

  • Unique identifier
  • Price and currency
  • Manufacturer
  • Model name
  • Serial number
  • Asset tag
  • Item description

By default this information is displayed within the Assets > All Assets > Discovered view.


If a corresponding asset already exists, the CrowdStrike record will be linked with the asset record automatically.

How often is the information synced?

The information is synced automatically on initial connection and then every 24 hours. A manual sync can also be run from the Integrations page, or Assets > All Assets > Discovered > … menu if required, a maximum of every 3 hours.


How to make the connection

You must have the Owner role within Setyl, and sufficient permissions in CrowdStrike to make the connection.


  1. Within Setyl, navigate to Settings > Integrations and find CrowdStrike Falcon on the page. Click connect.
  2. In a new tab, navigate to the CrowdStrike Falcon portal
    1. Go to Support and Resources > API Clients and Keys
    2. Click “Create API client”
    3. Copy and paste the Client ID, Client Secret and Base URL into the Setyl window. Be sure to treat these credentials with the same secrecy as a password.
    4. Click “Save & Connect” in Setyl
  3. The connectin status will display within Setyl. Within an hour, you should see a list of CrowdStrike Falcon-sourced records appear within Assets > All Assets > Discovered.
