Should I create separate Setyl accounts for parts of my organization?

Usually not. In most cases, keep your whole organization in one Setyl account and use the structure within that account to split things up:

• Locations and sublocations: offices, sites, rooms or storage areas

• Departments: functions such as Engineering or Finance

• Legal entities: separate companies or subsidiaries in your group

• Teams and groups: any other way you want to group people and assets

You'll find all of these under Organization in the left-hand menu.

Keeping everything in one account means you get:

• One view of everything: assets, apps, licenses and spend for the whole organization in one place.

• Accurate reporting: filter or report by location, department, legal entity, team or group.

• No duplicates: people who move between offices or departments stay as one record.

• Simpler integrations: connect your HR, identity and device management tools once.

When a separate account is the right choice

Use separate Setyl accounts when your company is fully split into more than one set of systems, such as separate Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace or Okta tenants, and your IT team works across more than one of those entities.

Each account then connects to its own systems. You can link the accounts together and switch between them from the account menu, so you don't need to log out and back in.
