Software cost allocation or intercompany billing using Setyl

It is common for Organizations to purchase software and hardware through a parent or main company entity, then bill back costs to individual cost centres or business units within the business on a proportional basis.

Setyl removes much of the manual process in doing this by providing an automated cost apportionment report for software.

This is based on calculating the location, department, legal entity and group(s) of each employee assigned a specific software license, which is then sum totalled and displayed as a proportion of the overall software license cost.

This report can be accessed from Reports > License Costs. It displays the overall costs and % allocation, and can also be downloaded for further offline modelling.
