What are Teams and how do I use them?

Group People, Assets and Apps into Teams to track spend by cost center, project or any other way you work.

Teams are a way to group People, Assets and Apps that sits alongside Departments, Locations, Legal Entities and Groups. Use them however suits your organization, for example as cost centers, project teams or squads that cut across departments.

Create a Team

  1. Go to Organization > Teams.
  2. Click Add new Team.
  3. Enter a Name and save.

To add lots of Teams at once, use + > Bulk Upload / Update > Teams.

Add People, Assets and Apps to a Team

  • People: open the Team and click Assign on the People & Service Accounts tab. You can also set the Team on the Person's profile.
  • Assets and Apps: set the Team on the Asset or App. For Apps, open the App's Overview and edit its Organization Tags.

Assign Teams automatically

  • From your integrations: Teams can be imported from a range of integrations, such as Microsoft and Okta. Go to Settings > Company Settings > Data Mapping and, under People Data Mapping, choose your integration as the source for Teams. If the field you use for teams isn't available, email hello@setyl.com and we can map it for you.
  • To Assets and Licenses: under Settings > Company Settings > Automation, tick Team in Auto assign Department, Location, Legal Entity, Group and Team. Assets and Licenses will then take the Team of the Person they're assigned to.

What you can see for each Team

Open a Team from Organization > Teams to see:

  • People & Service Accounts: who's in the Team, with how many Assets and Licenses each person has.
  • Assets and Apps linked to the Team.
  • Automation: rules that give people in the Team Licenses automatically. Click Add Rule to choose a License for everyone in the Team.
  • Support Tickets and Activity for the Team.
