How do I set up and use the Catalog?

Easily monitor asset availability and inventory levels with the asset Catalog feature.

The Catalog allows you to group assets into customizable categories, and view inventory levels based on asset status — providing a clear overview of asset availability. Use this overview to streamline inventory management, equipment allocation and stock reordering.

Note: You must be a Setyl Owner to build and edit the Catalog. Owners, Managers and Supervisors can all view the Catalog. 

Step 1: Create your Catalog Categories

  1. Log into Setyl.
  2. Navigate to Catalog in the main menu.
  3. Click + Add new Category at the top right. 
  4. Enter a name for your category and select an icon to represent it. 
  5. Select the statuses to display.

Example Categories

Here are some example categories to inspire your own, but you are able to create any category that suits your organization's needs:

  • Apple laptops
  • Windows 13-inch laptops
  • Developer laptops (32GB RAM)
  • New York Macbooks
  • Laptops with French keywords (AZERTY)
  • Sales phones
  • Sales headsets
  • External monitors (28 inches or larger)
  • WiFi access points
  • Shared iPads

Step 2: Add assets to your Category

You can add assets to your category in various ways, including:

  • Via the Category profile: Open the relevant Category in your Catalog overview. Select the assets to add from the side panel.
  • Via the Asset overview: To bulk add multiple assets, go to Assets > All Assets. Use the filters to narrow down your selection. Bulk select the assets you want to add, and click Edit. In the side panel, find Catalog Category and choose the relevant category.
To confirm whether an asset has been added to a Catalog Category, navigate to Overview > Status & Assignments > Catalog Category in the Asset profile.
