      ninjaOne Integration Guide

      Setyl integrates with ninjaOne allowing you to maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets and automatically assign assets to users. This guide explains how to connect ninjaOne to Setyl, what permissions are required and how the integration works.

      How the ninjaOne integration works

      Once connected, Setyl automatically pulls data from ninjaOne at regular intervals. Data can also be synced manually at any time by triggering a manual sync.

      Assets with an existing matching Serial Number within Setyl will be automatically linked, avoiding the duplication of assets.

      What data is synced?

      Once ninjaOne is connected, Setyl will sync the following data:

      • Asset Details: Name, Model, Operating System, and Assigned User.

      How to configure the ninjaOne integration

      Prerequisites

      Before connecting ninjaOne to Setyl, ensure you have:

      • Administrator access to your ninjaOne account

      • A Setyl account with Owner level admin permissions

      Connecting ninjaOne to Setyl

      1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations in Setyl.

      2. Under Asset Detection Sources (MDM, RMM & others) locate ninjaOne

      3. Click Connect.

      4. Fill in the Client Secret and the Client ID. The instructions for where to find each field are included within the form.

      5. Click Save and Connect.

      Please note that it may take several minutes before assets begin to sync after the connection has been made.

      Managing multiple organizations in ninjaOne

      If your ninjaOne account manages multiple organizations, you can select which ones sync with Setyl. You can update your selection at any time by:

      1. Navigating to Settings > Integrations.

      2. Locate ninjaOne under Asset Detection Sources (MDM, RMM & others).
      3. Select the 3 Dot Menu > Configure Organizations.

      4. Adjusting your organization selections.

      5. Clicking Save Organizations.

      Trigger a manual sync

      You can manually sync data from ninjaOne by:

      1. Navigating to Settings > Integrations.
      2. Locate ninjaOne under Asset Detection Sources (MDM, RMM & others).
      3. Select the 3 Dot Menu.
      4. Select Sync Now.

      View synced assets

      1. Navigate to Assets > All Assets > Discovered.

      2. Use filtering options to display ninjaOne synced assets.

      3. Click Link or Create to create the asset within Setyl.

      Troubleshooting

      If the integration fails to connect:

      • Double-check your Base URL, Client Secret and Client ID.

      • Disconnect and reauthorize the ninjaOne connection.

      • Ensure API access is enabled in ninjaOne settings.

      • Contact Setyl support for further assistance.
